What is this project about?

This is an independent long-term project led by a virtual reality industry veteran and a musician that seeks to film a fictional music career for everyone to follow along to. Think of it like “Just Dance” but with a storyline!

What will we be doing?

What we are making is a group of musicians set in a fictional "virtual academy" where people train to be music artists and make-it-big! The most similar type of career we'll be emulating is that of a traditional Kpop group. So we'll be experiencing real-life music/dance trainings, vocal recordings, video/photo shoots, making social media content and personal vlogs … just like Kpop members do (but following a fictional storyline).

What is a “Virtual Group”:

Though we’ll be training and recording in real-life and in-person, our “groups” or “bands” will be virtual. This means we’ll be mainly showing ourselves online in an upcoming VR platform called “Virtual Academy" (name pending) and on YouTube and other social media platforms. We’re not currently planning to do live performances as this is meant to be filmed for a online audience, but never-say-never if we build-up a fanbase that wants that in the future!

What does “All-Expense-Paid” mean?

That means that you’ll be getting free music/dance lessons, free vocal recordings, free video/photo shoots, and coverage for any extraneous costs like transportation.

What do I have to commit to:

• In-person Music/Dance Practices & Film Shoots (most likely one-evening-a-week).

• In-person Vocal Recording Sessions (a full-day occasionally)

• In-person Music Video/Photo Sessions (a full-day occasionally)

• In-person and/or personal Social Media Content like Vlogging (self-made/paced)

• Long-term Involvement 1-2+ years

• Occasional other activities may arise, but this is overall meant to be a part-time experience that accommodates people that go to work or college.

• Ability to commute to meet-up locations
  
  

Where is this located?

In the greater Los Angeles region. We'll try to find meet-up locations that work best for everyone involved.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for artists of all ages, and at least 4 people around their 20s that are adept at dancing, singing, or acting. We’ll be there to coach you, so what we are really evaluating are baseline capabilities, a willing-personality, and potential!

If you don't fit that criteria, we’d still encourage you to apply in case we have any other opportunities you'll be interested in being contacted about (background acting, choreography, music production, etc.).
